How to avoid plagiarism

The mission of our Faculty, in accordance with its Statute, is to educate, to cultivate independent scientific research and artistic creation, and to take care of the cultural and educational development of human society. This entails a number of rights and opportunities, as well as obligations with regard to the results of educational and scientific work. In order to meet these obligations, students must not commit plagiarism. Plagiarism is defined as any case in which the author of a written work deliberately uses, directly or indirectly, the published or unpublished work, part of the work or idea of another person to give the impression that it is the author's own work or idea.

When students of the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University enrol in their studies, they are obliged to sign a declaration that obliges them to follow the rules of honesty in their scientific work throughout their studies.
