This information is for all potentially interested students who would like to participate in the free international summer school 'In Between?', which focuses on exploring the borderlands of contemporary Europe and their complicated histories and cultures of memory. This year the project will take place from 2-13 September 2024 in Poland, Estonia and Finland.
Students will take part in workshops on oral history, audio recording and podcast creation. The participants will then be divided into two groups, each of which will travel to one of the border regions - the Estonian-Finnish maritime border or the Masuria region of Poland. During the week-long study trips, they will learn about the history and uniqueness of the regions through guided tours, meetings with local experts and interviews with residents. The students will present the results of their research in the form of a short artistic podcast.
Applications from arts and humanities students aged 18-26 are willcome.
The deadline for applications is 5 May 2024.
