Apply for summer international study programmes in Germany, Denmark, or Spain and experience intensive learning in an international environment, working in teams with students from different countries. Explore timely topics such as Europe’s digital resilience, social entrepreneurship and business model innovation, corporate responses to climate change, and sustainable and regenerative approaches to business and communities. Engage in real-life projects, develop your critical and creative thinking, build new connections, gain valuable international experience, and earn 3–7.5 ECTS credits. This course introduces students to the concept of social entrepreneurship. It will include an introduction to the basic concepts of social entrepreneurship, such as the theory of change, tools for measuring social impact, and the selection of a suitable hybrid organizational form. The theoretical parts will be complemented by practical projects, where students will solve specific problems of social entrepreneurship together in teams.

The course develops skills in identifying social opportunities and modelling social entrepreneurship. It presents social entrepreneurship as a tool for discovering and sustainably exploiting business opportunities that address the social and environmental challenges of humanity, and as a tool for finding balance in both market and non-market environments.

The course offers an introduction to climate change and entrepreneurship. Through a combination of lectures and interactive exercises, students will learn about the science of climate change (greenhouse gases, their relationship to weather and climate), how climate change poses risks and opportunities for business, and what steps can be taken. Students will theoretically focus on climate change and business analysis (e.g., stakeholder theory). In groups, they will analyze the company they have chosen to identify risks and opportunities related to climate change, as well as provide recommendations for the future.

The course will offer an introduction to the framework of permaculture as a tool for innovative and critical thinking about sustainable and regenerative approaches to business, community and lifestyle. "Permaculture" offers a holistic design framework for creating regenerative ways of life that aim to maximize beneficial relationships through observing, mimicking, and working with nature (in a broader sense) rather than against it, with the goal of increasing resilience, diversity, productivity, and stability. The permaculture framework is increasingly being applied around the world to promote and inspire more sustainable lifestyles and communities, to improve biodiversity, energy efficiency, mental health, disinfect consumption, and design livable and humane social systems.
