On Wednesday, February 4, the International Office of the Faculty of Arts at Palacký University organized a meeting for exchange students from abroad who will be studying at the faculty during the summer semester.
The aim of the meeting was to welcome the students and encourage them during their first days in an unfamiliar environment. In addition, they were provided with practical information related to the start of the semester.
"I consider the meeting to be very important. It is not so much about them learning every detail about the organization of studies at the faculty, but about making them feel welcome here," said Simona Černá, international officer in charge of incoming students. "This semester, approximately 70 exchange students are beginning their studies with us, of which about two-thirds are Erasmus students," she added.
In addition to the Erasmus program, students from various countries come to the Faculty of Arts, most often from South Korea and Taiwan.
During the meeting, a former exchange student, who decided to pursue a degree program in Olomouc, also spoke to the students. Her own story is the best reassurance and encouragement for the students. We would like to thank her for her help.
We wish all exchange students the best of luck in getting the most out of their stay at our faculty. At the same time, we wish the teachers success and joy in their work with students from abroad.
