The New Central Research Website of the Faculty of Arts

Thursday 28 May 2026, 7:00

Dear Readers,

If you are reading this text, you are visiting the newly redesigned section of the website of the Faculty of Arts, Palacký University Olomouc, dedicated to research and scholarly activities.

The purpose of this section is to provide everyone involved in research and scholarly activities at the Faculty of Arts with a clear and centralized platform for accessing essential information. Whether you are looking for updates from the Grant Office, information on habilitation procedures, details concerning the Research Ethics Panel, or, as a member of the public, are interested in the research conducted at the Faculty of Arts, you will find the relevant information here or through links to more detailed pages.

This section also aims to offer the Faculty of Arts academic community a space to showcase research, publication, project, and other professional achievements. We would particularly welcome information such as:

  • the publication of an article in a prestigious academic journal,
  • the organization of a conference or workshop,
  • the hosting of a public engagement or outreach event at your department,
  • a visit by a distinguished international colleague,
  • a significant award received by one of your colleagues,
  • the publication of a new issue of a departmental journal,
  • the acquisition of a new research project or the successful completion of an existing one,
  • the establishment of a new and promising research collaboration.

In such cases, please send us a proposed news item, ideally accompanied by photographs or other supplementary materials, at tomas.holesovsky@upol.cz.

Another objective of this section is to present the Faculty of Arts in a manner consistent with leading international institutions. We aim to provide potential partners — including research, project, and institutional partners — with a clear overview of the research areas pursued at the Faculty and to demonstrate our expertise and relevance as a collaborative partner. This form of presentation is also important for strengthening the Faculty’s international visibility and, within certain grant schemes, constitutes a significant component of institutional evaluation.
