This year, the Rector of Palacký University will once again recognise the best academic books produced at UP faculties and other university units. Publications issued between 2022 and 2026 can be submitted for the UP Rector’s Honourable Mention. Authors of the award-winning books will also receive a CZK 10,000 prize.

Any UP employee may nominate a book for the award, including the author of the book themselves. Simply submit the publication together with a completed electronic cover sheet to the Research Office of the Faculty of Arts by 30 September 2026.

Academic books that have not previously received the UP Rector’s Honourable Mention are eligible for submission. Popular science publications, textbooks and teaching materials are not eligible.

The submitted books will first be assessed by the FPVČ committee. Selected publications will then advance to the university-wide round. This year, the UP Rector may recognise up to 19 academic books, including five from the Faculty of Arts.

The UP Rector’s Honourable Mention is awarded annually to mark the anniversary of the university’s re-establishment and aims to highlight high-quality academic research carried out at Palacký University.

The competition is governed by UP Internal Regulation No. R-B-20/18 – ÚZ01.
